This Kensight Defensive Adjustable Rear Sight is Fully Adjustable for both Windage and Elevation, and is an ideal low profile sight upgrade for a concealed carry pistol due to its thoroughly dehorned exterior with no sharp edges to cut hands or catch on clothing during the draw stroke. The rear sight body is Wire-EDM machined from 4140 Chrome Moly Steel that is then heat treated to a hardness of RC 38-40, ensuring tight part-to-part fit and long-lasting durability. Click-adjustments are positive and precise, allowing for reliable and consistent point of impact changes.
This Kensight Rear Sight is also equipped with a Recessed Face Slanted Blade that offers the sharp, defined sight picture of a square target blade in a rear sight body that is sloped to reduce the potential for snagging when drawing from concealment. This rear sight fits the popular Novak LoMount rear sight dovetail cut, often found on many factory-produced and custom 1911 pistols such as certain model Springfield Armory, Colt, Wilson Combat, STI International, Les Baer Custom, Rock River Arms, Dan Wesson 1911s and many others.
Novak® LoMount™ Dovetail Sight Cut
The Novak® LoMount™ dovetail is a somewhat standard dovetail sight cut found on many popular factory-fitted (OEM) and custom platforms. The Kensight® DAS™ (Defensive Adjustable Sights) and DFS™ (Defensive Fixed Sights) are the perfect low profile upgrade for your concealed carry, or combat carry pistols, due to a smooth, thoroughly "dehorned", low-profile exterior. The benefit of this feature is there are no sharp edges to cut hands or catch on clothing during the draw stroke which compliments your concealed carry or defensive style 1911. This particular sight will only fit an existing Novak® LoMount™ 1911 dovetail. Add The Optional Front Sight
A front sight with dovetail dimensions of 0.330" (Width) x 65° (Angle) x 0.075" (Depth) has become known as a “standard” front sight in the industry. While these were first seen on 1911 slides with the Novak LoMount rear sight, other OEM manufactures have adopted this same size for their 1911 platform. There are two basic configurations of the “standard” front sight base. One is the “Flat Base” style and the other is the “Contoured Base”. The dovetail dimensions are both the same, so the base selection is a personal preference depending on the profile on the top of your 1911 slide. We recommend that you check your existing front sight dovetail dimensions, before purchasing the standard front sight.
DAS™ Suggested Front Sight Height
The front sight height will greatly vary depending on your rear sight selection. Most of the Kensight DAS˜ (Defensive Adjustable Sights) will require a front sight height of 0.190” - 0.200” tall. We ship most of our DAS sight sets with the recommended 0.200” tall front sight. In some cases your existing front sight may work, but this could limit the amount of elevation adjust-ability in the rear sight. Limited Lifetime Warranty
We stand behind our products. All Kensight Sights are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. We guarantee our products against defects in material and construction. This limited lifetime warranty does not extend to normal signs of wear. It does not cover breakage, damage or rust due to misuse, improper maintenance, accidents, loss or theft. The warranty does not extend to damages cause by unauthorized repairs.
Any product we determine to be defective will be repaired or replaced solely at our discretion. To receive warranty repair or replacement, the owner must send the product to be evaluated by KFS Industries Warranty Services located at our Atlanta, Georgia headquarters. In addition to the provisions of this warranty, the owner may also have other rights that can vary by state. No other warranties are implied or expressed other than what is specifically stated here.
Warranty Service
All products returned to KFS Industries for a warranty claim must have prior approval of a KFS Customer Service employee in the form of a Return Material Authorization Number (RMA). The RMA must be displayed on the exterior of the return carton. Merchandise returned without an RMA will be refused. The RMA number assigned will expire 30 days from date of issue. Poor windage adjusment, but everything else about it is good
I bought sight model 860-616 primarily for elevation adjustment, for which it works quite well. Otherwise I probably would have returned it. It has no useful windage adjustment; it can only be moved two clicks in either direction. The change in windage on a target at 25 yards is insignificant, so be prepared to drift this sight to correct the horizontal point of aim. It mounted perfectly after a bit of file work (and a dab of cold bluing to restore the finish). This sight has two set screws which hold it solidly in place, and two springs which keep it exactly parallel to the base. There was no movement after a box of 50 hot rounds. The slot in the elevation screw is ridiculously narrow, but it provides a significant amount of adjustment and is captured in position by a very positive ball spring. The sight's profile is almost an exact match with the original combat sight -- a superb feature. However, for the price I expected a useful amount of windage adjustment. Kensight Response: You should have more than enough windage adjustment. 1-2 clicks in each direction is not right. I think maybe the windage screw is stuck on your particular sight. Send it back and we will fix it for you.

Adjustable Novak Low mount recesed blade rear sight for Remington R1 Enhanced.
I ordered this part along with its front sight match on a Thursday at noon online, and it was in my mailbox Monday! The original Remington rear sight was harder than I anticipated getting out, have a decent brass punch and a vice handy. The new Kensight rear sight was about .008" wider across the base than the original and after contacting Kensight was assured they were made to be a little oversize and had to be filed to fit. I used a 90* grinder with a used 24 grit Roloc disc to carefully take a little off each face until my dial calipers indicated I was within about .001". I am no Machinist (nor do I play one on the internet) but after coating each face with black marker, I c-clamped a big flat file to a board clamped in the vise and filed each face until the black was gone. My new Kensight sight fit good with just a little persuasion of the brass punch. I used a little blue JB weld thread lock on the sight and set screws as I assembled it with a laser bore sight aligner installed to center it. I left the original fiber optic sight on the gun (by eyeball it looked close to the same height as the new one) but I am shooting several inches high at 50 yards even with the rear sight all the way down. I will have to install the new front sight also, but I was only off two clicks left of center. It appears to be a very quality made part; I'm sure much better than I can shoot!
